Wanted...

Room 12 have been busy establishing the roles in our new classroom community.
During our writing sessions, we created job advertisements for the different classroom responsibilities we could sign up for.

We then wrote letters of application to Miss Walsh for the job we were most interested in doing.
Here are some examples...

Wanted: Two Messengers

Room 12 is seeking two class messengers. Candidates must have a good memory, sense of direction and be alert. Responsibilities include sending out messages and collecting messages from the office. If you are interested in this position, please write a letter to Miss Walsh, Room 12.


Dear Miss Walsh, 

I am writing to apply for the position of messenger. 
I am interested in this job because I love to send messages and because I love to run!
I feel I would be a suitable candidate for this job as I have an excellent memory, sense of direction and I'm extremely alert.

Wanted: Class Messenger

Room 12 is looking for two messengers. Responsibilities include knowing where the classrooms are and not dropping the messages on the ground. Candidates must be a member of Room 12, responsible and polite. If you are interested in this job please write an application letter to Miss Walsh

I am interested in this job because I like going to other classes. I feel I would be a suitable candidate as I am polite, confident and have a great memory. My previous experience includes being a messenger in Room 18.

Wanted: Table Monitors

Room 12 is seeking 6 table monitors. Responsibilities are tidying the tables if they are messy, putting all the pencil pots away, making sure there's the right amount of equipment in each pencil pot and making sure every chair is tucked in. Candidates must be a member of Room 12 and responsible. A knowledge of what pencil pots are and where the rulers and pencil pots go, a must. If you are interested in this job, please write an application letter to Miss Walsh and deliver to Room 12 by Friday 16th February 2018.


Dear Miss Walsh,

I am writing to apply for the position of table monitor.
 I am interested in this job because it has lots of responsibilities and it will take up some of my time in the morning so I don't get bored. 
I feel I would be a suitable candidate as I will remember to put all the pencil pots on the tables in the morning and put them back in the afternoon. I will also take all the heavy chairs down if they have not been taken down by others. In addition, I will make sure there is the right amount of pencils, red pens and glue sticks in each pencil pot.
My previous experience includes being an IT monitor in Year 2. I also keep all my pens, pencils and paper tidy at home. Furthermore, I can work out how much equipment is in all the pots using my times tables.

Wanted: Star Spotters

Room 12 is seeking star spotters to give dojo points to responsible students. Responsibilities include looking for students that are doing the right thing and at the end of the day, telling Miss Walsh. Candidates must be alert, a member of Room 12 and be honest. If you are interested in this job, please write to Miss Walsh in Room 12.

Dear Miss Walsh,

I am writing to apply for the position of star spotter. 
I am interested in this job because I am confident I can do a good job. I feel I will be fair and honest.
My previous experience includes star spotting in Room 15 and my teacher said I was perfect at it.
I like to see all the other children reach personal excellence.
